Meta is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join the controllership function, supporting the dynamically evolving revenue accounting landscape. We’re looking for a naturally curious, improvement-minded leader who proactively asks “why”, seeks to understand end-to-end product and data flows, and continuously raises the bar on revenue accounting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability through iteration, automation, and better controls. This role will help support revenue accounting and operations for our many evolving product initiatives. This individual will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate recording and reporting of revenue, while actively leveraging AI and automation to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in all accounting processes. In this role, you will partner closely with a large team of cross-functional business partners, engineers, and the broader finance team to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the product and ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition. You will combine business acumen and technical accounting knowledge to foster collaboration and provide sound advice to your business partners, and drive the adoption of AI and automation solutions to optimize revenue accounting operations and support ongoing business innovation.
Job Responsibility:
Establish and maintain an accurate and timely month-end close process for revenue
Proactively surface and pilot ideas leveraging AI to automate and enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of revenue accounting processes
Develop robust accounting processes and controls for new products, and maintain and improve existing processes and controls for existing products. Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with US GAAP and revenue recognition policies
Demonstrate intellectual curiosity by proactively investigating product features, data flows, contracts, and system behavior to understand revenue impacts and identify risks/opportunities
Support the business with new product launches and ongoing business initiatives
Partner with product engineering on testing and delivery of system solutions
Ensure compliance with key control objectives in the revenue accounting cycle
Support ad-hoc accounting projects and analysis as required, including data analysis and management reporting, design of accounting operational processes, business processes, global close efficiency improvements, automation, etc
Support detective controls and analytical review of revenues
Problem-solve, recommending solutions, and thinking strategically on a process level, while always anchoring solutions based on a robust understanding of the details
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, including revenue recognition
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Technical accounting background, with a working knowledge of ASC 606
Experience understanding complex products and related revenue accounting implications
Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Google Data Studio
Experience with developing robust accounting processes and controls for new products and improving existing process for highly scaled products
Experience in communicating with a cross-functional and internal audience while distilling complex concepts and analysis into concise actionable conclusions
Experience managing time-sensitive projects through to completion while continuously improving underlying processes and balancing evolving priorities and a broad range of stakeholders

Certified Public Accounting (CPA)
Experience in business analytics, data analysis, data visualization, process automation, and working with AI, spreadsheet software, SQL, Python, Tableau or similar tools
