We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing the entire revenue recognition cycle, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (ASC 606), and leading key process improvements and system implementations related to revenue operations.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the daily operations of the Revenue Accounting function, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for all revenue-related accounts
Mentor and develop junior staff
Collaborate extensively with Product, Data, Operations, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams
Serve as the subject matter expert for all technical revenue accounting matters, providing internal and external audit support
Manage the end-to-end revenue process from contract review to billing, collection, and reconciliation
Analyze partnership customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
Prepare and review critical revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Maintain and update the company's revenue accounting policies and procedures documentation
Oversee the calculation of commissions
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the revenue close process
Lead or actively participate in the implementation and optimization of revenue recognition modules within the ERP system
Develop and maintain key revenue reporting metrics and dashboards for management review
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
6+ years of progressive experience in accounting
At least 4+ years focused specifically on technical revenue recognition
Deep, practical working knowledge of ASC 606
Experience in a technology, SaaS, or software industry is highly preferred
Experience with Netsuite, Tipalti, and Ramp preferred
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills or Google Sheets and experience reconciling large sets of data
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to lead projects and drive cross-functional collaboration
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
Supervisory experience
Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls related to the revenue cycle
Passionate and knowledgeable about marketplaces
