The Revenue Accounting Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end revenue cycle in a large division of the Company. You will be part of a team to ensure that revenue is recorded and reported accurately, in accordance with ASC 606 and with the Company's policy. You are process driven, a self-starter, and a collaborator with experience in optimally executing against accounting close in a public company environment.
Job Responsibility
Perform the day-to-day revenue month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations for key accounts such as deferred revenue and deferred warranty
Support the assessments of customer contracts to ensure they meet ASC 606 standards and help draft technical documentation for accounting conclusions
Track and account for product warranties, ensuring they are correctly classified as either assurance-type or service-type warranties
Partner with the Operations team to source, clean, and analyze the data required for complex revenue adjustments
Perform sales and gross margin analysis by various metrics, i.e. customer, product, region etc.
Support the development and documentation of new SOX-compliant internal controls for the newly acquired division to ensure reporting integrity
Provide the finance team with the data and analysis needed to create accurate revenue forecasts
Assist in the testing and rollout of revenue system improvements and automation tools to speed up the reporting cycle
Prepare fluctuation analyses for revenue-related balance sheet and income statement accounts to explain trends and variances
Gather and organize supporting documentation for audit requests and provide necessary data for 10-Q and 10-K filings
Liaise with Sales and Legal to provide data and research that supports the revenue assessment of customer contract negotiations
Complete ad-hoc requests and special assignments as required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 3 years of experience in revenue accounting
CPA designation and knowledge of U.S. GAAP are preferred
Strong analytical skills
High attention to detail
Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications
Familiarity with revenue recognition principles
Strong organizational skills
Interpersonal communication abilities
