Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join our team in Denver, Colorado. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to manage and optimize revenue accounting processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems, a proactive approach to improving workflows, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue accounting processes and oversee month-end close activities to ensure compliance with organizational standards
  • Identify opportunities to streamline current workflows, with a focus on automating key processes for improved efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Distribution team to verify the accuracy of allocated sales volumes and revenues, working closely with production and marketing teams during settlement periods
  • Perform monthly revenue distribution tasks, including handling cash receipts, verifying revenue transactions, and assembling voucher batches for approval
  • Review purchaser statements to confirm the accuracy of payment deductions and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Maintain and manage accounting data in Enertia, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while performing quality control checks
  • Lead audits at state, federal, and internal levels, ensuring compliance and thorough documentation
  • Track gas balancing for midstream and upstream operations, while monitoring midstream costs and contract adherence
  • Coordinate with various organizational functions and the data management team to align processes and drive efficiencies
  • Respond to owner, partner, and vendor inquiries related to revenue, supporting the Land team with correspondence and issue resolution

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in revenue accounting and experience with accounting functions in diverse industries
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software systems, including Oracle and Enertia
  • Hands-on experience with ERP solutions and enterprise resource planning tools
  • Ability to analyze financial data and implement automation to improve accounting processes
  • Familiarity with gas balancing, midstream costs, and contract compliance
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and quality control
  • Demonstrated ability to lead audits and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across teams and respond effectively to inquiries
