Job Description

A busy and active family based in the near Marlow are seeking a loving and professional Retainer Nanny with a mature approach for their three girls, aged 4.5 years, 3 years and 9 months. The role is a mixture of sole charge and shared care, and covers a maximum of 121 days per year (approximately 17 weeks per year), providing holiday and sickness cover for the family’s two Rota Nannies who work on a 24/7 rota basis. The eldest will be starting school in September 2026; the middle daughter attends a local nursery three mornings per week; and all three children enjoy classes and activities locally. A private bedroom and ensuite bathroom will be provided whilst on duty.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide attentive and developmentally appropriate care for three girls (aged 4.5, 3 and 9 months)
  • Carry out all nursery duties including feeding, bathing, bedtime routines and overnight care
  • Assist with nursery drop-off and school pick-up as required
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, outings and play at local activity centres and outdoor spaces
  • Support and encourage the children’s individual interests, learning and development
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children
  • Work collaboratively with the two Rota Nannies and the full-time housekeeper
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with the parents
  • Travel with the family when required

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children of similar ages (baby, toddler and pre-school)
  • Experience in a retainer, rota or 24-hour nanny role is highly advantageous
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A warm, patient and nurturing approach with a professional and mature manner
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A love of the outdoors and an active lifestyle
  • Comfortable around animals (e.g. horses and dogs)
  • A full, clean driving licence — driving is essential
  • Experience of family travel
  • Up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • Experience in a retainer, rota or 24-hour nanny role is highly advantageous
