The Retail/Residential Supervisor overseeing the POD Market will coordinate, plan, participate in, and supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of food and supplies within a designated retail/residential unit. This role ensures operational excellence, high-quality service, and full compliance with company standards and food safety regulations.
Job Responsibility
Supervise daily operations of the POD Market, ensuring smooth and efficient service
Coordinate food production, merchandising, and inventory controls
Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
Support hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
Oversee staff scheduling and provide hands-on leadership during service
Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation
Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and retail display setup
Manage inventory, ordering, and waste control
Deliver excellent customer service and address guest concerns promptly
Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
Provide operational support across the Commons dining location as needed
Assist with scheduling and labor coverage to meet operational needs
Coach employees on service standards, food quality, and safety practices
Requirements
Two to three years' experience in a related culinary position
Candidate will possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
Candidate must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work event-based hours that include evenings and weekends.
