Job Description

The Retail/Residential Supervisor overseeing the POD Market will coordinate, plan, participate in, and supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of food and supplies within a designated retail/residential unit. This role ensures operational excellence, high-quality service, and full compliance with company standards and food safety regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Supervise daily operations of the POD Market, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Coordinate food production, merchandising, and inventory controls
  • Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
  • Oversee staff scheduling and provide hands-on leadership during service
  • Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation
  • Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and retail display setup
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and waste control
  • Deliver excellent customer service and address guest concerns promptly
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Provide operational support across the Commons dining location as needed
  • Assist with scheduling and labor coverage to meet operational needs
  • Coach employees on service standards, food quality, and safety practices

Requirements

  • Two to three years' experience in a related culinary position
  • Candidate will possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Experiential knowledge required for management of people and/or problems
  • Excellent oral, reading, and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be willing to be hands on with staff and operations and be willing to work event-based hours that include evenings and weekends.
