As the Retail Leasing Manager, you will play a key role in supporting Honey Birdette’s global property strategy and boutique network. You will take ownership of the Australian retail portfolio, managing lease negotiations, renewals, rent reviews and key landlord relationships while ensuring our boutiques remain positioned in premium retail locations. Alongside this, you will provide structured support to our international teams in the USA and UK, helping to review opportunities, analyse commercial terms and maintain strong global leasing processes. This role requires someone who combines commercial awareness with strong organisation and negotiation capability. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, agility and proactive thinking are essential. You will work closely with Retail Operations, Finance, Legal and senior leadership to support portfolio performance and future boutique expansion.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all leasing activity across the Australian portfolio including new leases, renewals, relocations, rent reviews and variations
Conduct preliminary lease negotiations with landlords and leasing agents
Prepare commercial recommendations and supporting documentation for leadership approval
Track and manage all critical lease dates to ensure proactive action and no unintentional expiries
Collaborate with Legal to interpret lease terms and coordinate contract execution
Support USA and UK teams by reviewing term sheets and providing commercial insights on leasing opportunities
Assist international teams with data gathering, benchmarking and document preparation
Maintain accurate lease records and an up-to-date property database
Conduct regular audits to ensure lease data integrity and compliance
Prepare reports on portfolio performance, rent changes, upcoming expiries and financial impacts
Monitor market trends and identify risks and opportunities to optimise the portfolio
Partner with Retail Operations and Finance to evaluate store performance and lease outcomes
Build strong relationships with landlords, leasing agents and centre management teams
Prepare commercial summaries, financial comparisons and negotiation analyses
Support budgeting, forecasting and cost tracking related to leasing and occupancy expenses
Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in retail leasing, property administration, centre management support or a similar commercial property role
Experience reviewing lease documentation and supporting lease negotiation processes
Strong understanding of leasing concepts including rent structures, incentives, outgoings and lease obligations
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, documents and stakeholders simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail when working with contracts, financial data and lease records
Clear and confident communicator with strong written and verbal professionalism
Ability to build strong relationships with landlords, agents and internal teams
Experience using lease management systems or property databases
Self-motivated with a proactive mindset and eagerness to grow within the leasing function
