Job Description

Goodwill Southern California is seeking a Retail Lead Associate to support day-to-day store operations while developing the skills needed to advance into a future Manager-on-Duty (MOD) role. This position plays an essential part in creating exceptional guest experiences, driving store performance, and supporting a positive team culture rooted in our Mission and RISE Values.

Job Responsibility

  • Support store operations under the direction and training of the Site Manager
  • Perform limited Manager-on-Duty (MOD) tasks, including break coverage and POS oversight
  • Provide excellent service to every customer, donor, and Ambassador while modeling Goodwill’s RISE Values
  • Assist with coaching, training, and guiding Ambassadors to meet daily operational goals
  • Perform accurate POS transactions and cash-handling procedures
  • Receive and record donations using required technology
  • Sort, clean, process, and price donated goods following company standards
  • Merchandise the sales floor to meet company guidelines and SOPs
  • Support backroom operations, Truck Swap activities, and janitorial tasks as needed
  • Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and support nearby locations when required

Requirements

  • Ability to read, speak, and write Basic English
  • Ability to operate a cash register, computer, and other required store technology
  • Ability to work well within a diverse team
  • Some retail or customer service experience helpful
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to develop leadership capabilities
