Job Description:

The Retail Buyer & Merchandiser is responsible for sourcing, buying, pricing, and merchandising Souvenirs & Cheers Shop products. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to work independently, and has a strong eye for detail.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
  • Creates merchandise displays in an innovative, attractive and distinctive manner to encourage sales. This includes in shop displays, windows, and hallways
  • Maintain accurate inventory records. (Oversees the year-end physical count for accuracy and conducts inventory checks as needed.)
  • Assist in the training and supervision of staff regarding product knowledge, guest service, and retail policies
  • Manage store budgets and ensure that all expenses are within budget limits
  • Analyze guest product feedback to identify areas of improvement
  • Assists in coordinating the unpacking, marking, and stocking of merchandise
  • Evaluates slow-moving inventory and conducts markdowns as necessary
  • Coordinates activities and events for the Souvenirs & Cheers Shop "Calendar of Events" and promotions
  • May plan, coordinate and facilitate extra sales opportunities for guests with the Guests Services team
  • Performs Sales Clerk responsibilities as necessary. Covers breaks in shop as needed
  • Performs "Retail Manager on Duty" responsibilities as scheduled
  • Attends regular trade shows to maintain new and fresh product mix

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, Marketing, or a related field - or equivalent experience
  • 18+ years of age
  • Previous buying and merchandising experience required
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Minimum of one year of retail sales experience or related guest facing role
  • Professional appearance and friendly disposition with strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for duration of an 8+ hour shift
  • Ability to lift moderate weights (30-50 lbs.) as needed
