Job Description:

The Royal Air Force Museum is looking to recruit a Retail Assistant. The post holder will be responsible for delivering the commercial activities of the Museum with the sale of goods and services in our retail and visitor areas and supporting the delivery of museum events. This is a full-time, 1-year fixed term role, working 35 hours per week, based at our London site.

Job Responsibility:

  • Delivering the commercial activities of the Museum with the sale of goods and services in retail and visitor areas
  • Supporting the delivery of museum events
  • Preparing, monitoring and operating the Soft Play attraction and associated ‘pop-up’ gift shop
  • Providing high standards of customer care
  • Managing daily bookings, session times and capacities
  • Processing sales of tickets and shop stock via EPOS tills and booking platforms across all the museums retail outlets and experiences

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to deliver an exceptional visitor experience
  • Previous retail or customer facing experience (ideal)
  • Team player
  • Keen to learn new skills
  • Enthusiastic about presenting the Museum, the RAF and the RAF stories
