Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is seeking a passionate Restaurant Sous Chef to join our team. Reporting to the Restaurant Chef, the Sous Chef plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently, maintaining high-quality food production, and preparing for successful service, assisting the Head Chef.
Job Responsibility
Managing a designated area of the kitchen, and ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently
supervising kitchen staff and ensuring smooth communication and collaboration among team members
work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation
supports the head chef in menu planning, kitchen organization, and operational tasks, such as managing schedules and overseeing food safety practices
monitoring and managing stock levels of ingredients and supplies for their section, including ordering when necessary
executing cooking techniques to prepare meals, following recipes and menu specifications
maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
ensuring that all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored
following all health and safety protocols in the kitchen
working collaboratively with other members of the culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient service
Requirements
Cooking school or culinary institute education required
at least 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
advanced culinary knowledge is expected
exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage several demanding tasks in a consistently busy environment
strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, including knowledge of local health regulations
strong leadership and management abilities to effectively oversee kitchen staff and coordinate tasks
ability to work efficiently under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks during busy service periods
a keen eye for presentation and quality control to ensure dishes meet the outlet's standards
must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish
