Job Responsibility:
Greet customers as they enter and exit the café
Create and serve food and beverage items
Promote daily specials and encourage upgrades to each order
Operate cash register, process payments through cash or credit card handling and/or member account charges
Café opening and/or closing duties, as required
Maintain a clean, safe work environment according to State and Local food safety standards
Understand and anticipate the needs of our members and guests
be attentive, listen carefully and follow through
provide exceptional customer service
Communicate timely and follow up as appropriate
Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training
Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response
Schedule varies and may require weekend and holiday hours, days and evenings
Requirements:
Ability to read/understand, analyze, and interpret general training manuals, professional journals, or technical procedures
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from children, managers, associates, members, and the public
Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to use hands and fingers, handle or feel
Ability to reach with hands and arms
Ability to talk and hear
Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to taste or smell
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to have close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment according to food safety standards
Minimum one year of customer service experience (food service industry experience preferred)
State Food Handler Certification
Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) state certification
Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities
Strong verbal communication and conflict resolution skills
Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable team player
Self-motivated, takes initiative, anticipate the needs of others and willing to acquire new skills
