The Restaurant Host/ess greets and seats guests while coordinating reservations and responding to inquiries in an efficient, courteous and professional manner.
Job Responsibility:
Seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference
Answer telephones to take guest reservations or provide information regarding the restaurant or any other hotel service
Anticipate the needs of guests, respond accordingly to guest inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name and utilize the guest’s name consistently
Inspect and maintain menus to ensure quality, condition and appearance
Requirements:
At least 1 year of high-volume host/ess experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort
Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions
Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job
knowledge of Opera and OpenTable preferred/is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 10 lbs
US work authorization is required
