Job Responsibility:
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a warm and friendly atmosphere
Manage reservations and seating arrangements, optimizing the flow of guests in the dining area
Provide menus and information about specials, answering any questions guests may have
Monitor dining room activities, ensuring a smooth service experience
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host/ess station and dining area
Requirements:
Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to greet and engage guests warmly, provide clear directions, and communicate effectively with both guests and team members
Friendly and Welcoming Attitude: A positive, outgoing personality to make guests feel comfortable and valued from the moment they arrive
Organizational Skills: Capable of managing reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, and keeping track of guest preferences efficiently
Professional Appearance: Presents themselves well, as the host/ess is often the first point of contact for guests and represents the restaurant's image
Time Management: Ability to manage busy shifts, seat guests in a timely manner, and keep the flow of the restaurant running smoothly
Multitasking Ability: Can handle multiple responsibilities, such as answering phones, managing the waitlist, and assisting with guest inquiries, all while maintaining a calm demeanor
Team Player: Works well with other team members, including waitstaff and kitchen staff, to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests
Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of handling guest concerns or special requests with tact and efficiency, ensuring guest satisfaction
Knowledge of Reservation Systems: Familiarity with digital reservation platforms or willingness to learn to manage bookings and guest seating
