The Server provides exceptional guest service by greeting patrons, taking and accurately entering orders, and delivering food and beverages in a timely and professional manner. This role ensures guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean dining environment, promoting menu specials, responsibly serving alcohol, and coordinating closely with kitchen and bar staff. The Server handles multiple tables efficiently, while maintaining high standards of safety, service, and hospitality in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility:
Greet guests, present menus, and answer questions about menu items
Take orders accurately and enter them into the POS system
Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring proper presentation
Check guest identification for alcohol service and follow Smart Serve guidelines
Monitor guest satisfaction and respond to requests or concerns
Clear tables and maintain cleanliness of dining area
Assist with opening and closing duties including setting tables and rolling silverware
Handle payment transactions and provide receipts
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure coordination
Promote specials and upsell additional items when appropriate
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tables and prioritize tasks
Attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of food and beverage menu items
Proficiency with POS systems and electronic payment processing
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Previous restaurant serving experience preferred
Food handler certification
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Prolonged standing and walking throughout shift, often on concrete or stairs
Frequent carrying and lifting of trays, beverages, and food items up to 25–40 pounds (heavier for barbacks and runners)
Ability to balance and maneuver while serving in crowded or confined spaces
Frequent reaching, bending, and stooping
Ability to communicate clearly with guests in a noisy environment
