Job Description:

We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Assistant Manager to join the team in our Restaurant in Mortonhall Garden Centre. The hours for this role are 45 hours over 5 days. All positions include weekend working so flexibility is a must. However we have the added benefit of no evening work and no split shifts. Our Centre is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day which means time with the family on these important days. Our restaurant boasts an impressive menu serving the highest quality, mouth-watering food using the best local produce and home baking with everything made in-house. As the Restaurant Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Restaurant Manager in leading in the front of house operation working closely with our chef and kitchen team to prepare and serve our fabulous food with outstanding service and personality.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee set up of the front of house, counters and back of house operation each day ensuring readiness for service
  • Coordinate the team in front of house operation to create a welcoming and efficient service for our customers, taking every opportunity to create a Wow experience
  • Ensure staff have detailed knowledge of our mouth-watering menus to share with our customers as well as creating fabulous counter displays
  • Carry out all required Food Hygiene and Health and Safety checks
  • Manager staff rotas to ensure service level requirements are met

Requirements:

  • Hardworking front of house manager with the ability to manage a large team and significant peaks in service
  • Friendly, with an engaging personality and a genuine love for customer service
  • Strong communicator who can motivate their team to deliver with enthusiasm and great personality
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements in the Catering Industry
  • Passion for delivering the highest quality food and service
