In this vital role, you will step in to provide temporary relief to primary caregivers. Your goal is to seamlessly maintain the service user's normal routine, ensuring their day-to-day living continues exactly as it would with their own family. It is about creating a natural, comforting, and inclusive environment—whether that means sharing a meal, having a chat over a cup of tea, or heading out to the shops—so their regular caregivers can rest and recharge with true peace of mind. You will be supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours.
Job Responsibility:
Providing temporary relief to primary caregivers
Seamlessly maintaining the service user's normal routine
Supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours
Family-Style Support: Seamlessly integrating into their daily life and routine to provide companionship and emotional support
Personal Care: Assisting with washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with the utmost dignity
Household Support: Cooking, meal preparation, laundry, and light housework to keep their home running smoothly
Community Inclusion: Encouraging participation in hobbies, and assisting with community activities
Medication: Administration or assistance as directed by care plans
Requirements:
A genuine desire to help others with patience, empathy, and compassion
Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (Essential)
