Respiratory Care assists physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel in caring for diagnosing, and treating patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities by applying therapeutic, preventive, and diagnostic procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Administers treatments and medications which promote pulmonary hygiene, improve pulmonary function, and improve respiratory status
Implements oxygen, gas, and humidity therapy. Maintains oxygen and humidity devices and emergency equipment
Performs oximetry, safely obtains blood samples and verifies accuracy of results
Sets up, monitors, and maintains invasive and noninvasive ventilatory and oxygenation devices
recognizes and corrects malfunctions or inappropriate settings
Strong patient care and customer services skills: Provide high quality care and diagnostic services that are appropriate, efficient and effective
ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients, ages and physical conditions
Participates in patient’s assessments/evaluations, maintenance of airways and ventilation, resuscitation efforts and other emergency medical treatments
Able to work independently as well as part of a team with the ability to be self-motivated. Is dependable and reliable
Stocks supplies, prepares ventilators/Bipap and other equipment for immediate use
maintains a neat and orderly work area
Proficiently perform all assigned tasks proficiently
manage patient flow
preparation, procedure and charges
Demonstrates efficient multi-tasking skills, organizational ability and time management
Electronic Health Record and efficient use of computer skills
work in stressful situations
Provides proper patient information, medical history and performs necessary duties in accordance with policies and procedures

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Active license to practice Respiratory Care through the Board of Respiratory Care(NBRC) required
CRT credentialed from the National Board of Respiratory Care or LPN with competencies for Respiratory Care completed
Excellent communication skills, thoroughness and attention to detail, able to work independently and as a team member in an efficient and organized manner, possess mature thought, sound judgement and technical accuracy
Nice to have:
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist)
