Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
RRT or CPFT is required
Virginia State Respiratory Therapist license is required
At least 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
PFT clinical experience preferred
1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required
1+ years of management and/or training experience in healthcare preferred
Allscripts PM and EMR experience highly desired

Job Responsibility

Manage all PFT lab schedules
Supervise daily workflow and make changes where needed to ensure PFT lab runs efficiently
Monitor lab processes and policies for compliance
Provide guidance, direction, and support to PFT lab employees
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new PFT employees
Arrange and/or facilitate new employee training
Coordinate and monitor employee work schedules
Evaluate testing of PFT employees
Coordinate student externships with HR

Requirements

Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Care
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Current MA State Respiratory License
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, NRP preferred
Strong background in Acute Care, Critical Care, Pulmonary Function Testing, Blood Gas Accreditation and Polysomnography, Rehab, and EEGs

Job Responsibility

Job Responsibility

Administering therapy modalities which include, but are not limited to, Hand held Nebulizer (HHN), HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), Pentamidine therapy. Medication administration may be included during these therapy modalities
Administering medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2)
Performing ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems. These therapies are comprised of non-invasive and invasive ventilation therapies, as well as transport of ventilator patients to diagnostic procedures
Performs physiological monitoring and diagnostic testing including, ABG puncture, bronchoscopy assistance, pulmonary function testing, bedside PFT's, metabolic monitoring, apnea monitoring, transcutaneous monitoring, capnography, and pulse oximetry and sleep apnea assessment
Performs specialized procedures which including but are not limited to, CPR, bronchial lavage, transport, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, artificial and tracheostomy airway care, and body mechanics/ambulation. Permanent or temporary assignment may be made to the Pulmonary Function Lab to perform diagnostic procedures to identify and quantify dysfunction by spirometry, gas diffusion, and body plethysmography
Documenting all patient care accurately and completely in the required departmental documentation system
