Job Responsibility:

  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a collegial work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building
  • Provides leadership to staff to ensure short and long-term goals are met by developing standards of performance and capitalizing on employee strengths
  • Provide leadership and supervision through coaching, counseling, developing standards of service, ensuring training and education, maintenance of competencies and conducting employee performance reviews
  • Ensures care is delivered with respect for patient's rights and preferences
  • Maintains privacy, confidentiality, and security for patients and staff
  • Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise in the areas of which they supervise
  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients, self, co-workers, and facility in conjunction with the Director and Managers
  • Assists with department operations by monitoring the quality, safety and outcomes, and implementing performance improvement measures for identified metrics
  • Assists with policy and protocol development or changes
  • Assists with the development and implementation of orientation and other educational offerings, for age-appropriate section
