Join our team of six Respiratory Therapists serving patients across the tri-state area. This full-time position is based in Sioux Falls with regular hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, and participation in a shared after-hours and weekend on-call triage rotation. Travel is required but not daily, with a home base in Sioux Falls and regular in-office training. Job Responsibility:
Work includes instructing caregivers to properly use medical equipment in the home-ventilators, oxygen, cough assist, RAD, apnea monitors, and oximetry testing
Provide care in home, hospital, and clinic settings
Assess and manage patients with cardiopulmonary conditions
Deliver respiratory treatments per care plans
Educate patients on prevention and self-care
Evaluate patient status and equipment performance
Recommend therapy adjustments as needed
Collaborate with healthcare teams on patient care
Participate in on-call rotations as needed
Maintain expertise in respiratory procedures and equipment
Document care and collect data using electronic systems
Complete required training and competency validations
Requirements:
Associate degree in respiratory care from an accredited respiratory care program or in nursing required
Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred
Currently holds a Respiratory Therapy (RT) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state(s) where the practice is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure when applicable
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
If a licensed RT, must possess Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials as attained through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and maintain active status
Licensed RNs must possess licensure through the applicable state Board of Nursing (BON)
