Respiratory Care Practitioner

• Competently provide essential respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, mechanical ventilator operation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medical gas administration
• Provide expertise in care to all areas of the hospital and all patient populations on an independent level
• Functions as a resource for both internal and external customers in all aspects of Respiratory Care
• Performs advanced duties of Respiratory Care as outlined in the American Association of Respiratory Care's Clinical Practice Guidelines
• Respond to emergency call throughout the hospital and perform emergency respiratory care procedures
• Provide basic and advanced life support measures to all patient populations concentrating on area of expertise: Airway and Ventilation
• Performs electrocardiograph testing and related procedures
• Performs EKG testing to all patient populations and have basic knowledge to determine discrepancies in machine interpretations

• One year clinical experience working as a licensed respiratory therapist in an acute care setting
• Experience must include emergency department, adult, pediatric, neonatal and general respiratory care
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire
• Registered Respiratory Therapist, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire

• Bachelors Of Science Respiratory Therapy
• Advanced practitioner level experience and ability to perform independently in the NICU and Adult ICU's, upon hire
• Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty Respiratory Therapist, upon hire
• Adult Critical Care Specialty Examination, upon hire
