Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic Scheduler to join our Energy team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to forge a career in resource management, planning and scheduling, or HR, working on projects that power the future. You’ll play a key role in coordinating resources, matching people with roles, and ensuring smooth delivery of critical projects. This role is perfect for someone with a can-do attitude, who loves solving problems and bringing people together to achieve success.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work with Project Managers and Business Development teams to understand the available roles and demand for resources to support the delivery of technology projects, both now and in the future
  • Work with Line Managers to understand the skills, experience, aspirations and availability of our fee-earning team members
  • Determine which team members are best suited to fill roles on projects, balancing their availability, skills & interests with project and wider business needs, to help balance the resource supply & demand and optimise utilisation
  • Make clear, well-reasoned and persuasive recommendations to senior stakeholders, raising concerns early if people will be over- or under- utilised
  • Monitor project progress and resource availability, identify risks, and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Communicate effectively across teams to keep everyone on track

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to align competing interests and help people to find compromise solutions
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to always find a way – being comfortable interpreting project plans and resource calendars, finding out information yourself, making many decisions based on your own judgement, while also making persuasively argued recommendations & seeking wider agreement where necessary
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities

Nice to have:

  • Experience in planning or scheduling role within a technology or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project)
