CSIRO Education and Outreach is seeking STEM Education Resource Developers to help design and deliver innovative, high-quality learning resources that make contemporary science accessible, engaging and impactful for young people, educators, STEM professionals and the wider community. Working as part of the Resource Studio core development team, you will transform complex STEM concepts into accessible resources aligned with curriculum frameworks and informed by CSIRO science. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, vendors and program teams to develop, adapt and quality assure resources including lesson plans, classroom support materials, workshops, eLearning modules, videos and interactive digital content.
Job Responsibility
Design, develop and adapt high-quality STEM education resources, including digital learning content, aligned with curriculum frameworks and learning outcomes
Apply instructional design, educational theory and curriculum knowledge to create engaging, accessible and evidence-based learning materials
Work collaboratively with subject matter experts, educators, vendors and internal program teams to ensure resources are relevant, engaging and beneficial for end users
Conduct quality assurance of resources and support improvements in line with CSIRO Education and Outreach quality standards
Coordinate multiple resource development projects, manage competing priorities and contribute to continuous improvement of team processes
Requirements
Expertise in instructional design, adult learning, educational theory or pedagogy
Strong curriculum knowledge, with experience aligning educational resources to learning outcomes
Basic to intermediate visual design skills to support effective and engaging educational content
Ability to facilitate collaborative conversations across multiple programs to co-develop resources
Nice to have
Proficiency in STEM education principles, particularly science inquiry and resource development
Knowledge of accessibility best practice in educational content, or a willingness to upskill
Experience developing resources with Indigenous Knowledges, science and inquiry
Experience in design thinking, storyboarding, narrative-based learning design, eLearning development or digital education platforms
Project or production management experience, including coordinating educational content, stakeholders or vendors
