We are recruiting a Residential Support Worker to join a small, consistent and dedicated team supporting children and young people within a nurturing residential home. This role is ideal for someone calm, resilient and passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes. You will play an active role in the day to day running of the home, supporting the young people through structured routines, consistent care, and a commitment to safeguarding.
Job Responsibility:
Delivering high-quality care in line with personal plans and the home's Statement of Purpose
Supporting daily routines including meals, activities, household tasks and promoting independence
Safeguarding and protecting each child/young person in accordance with legislation and internal policies
Supporting young people to engage in education, training or employment and develop essential life skills
Completing accurate records, contributing to personal plans, and raising concerns appropriately
Encouraging positive relationships between staff, young people, families and professionals
Participating in induction, supervision, training and continuous development
Working collaboratively as part of a small team and maintaining a positive, professional environment
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people, ideally within a residential setting
Full UK driving licence
A calm, resilient and child-centred approach
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team and follow consistent routines
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Right to work in the UK (unfortunately, sponsorships are not being considered for this role)
Nice to have:
QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or working towards it
Knowledge of challenges faced by looked-after children
