Join Our Specialist Team in Wokingham. Are you an experienced Support Worker with a proven history of supporting children and young people in crisis? We are seeking dedicated and resilient individuals to join our specialist team. This is a challenging yet rewarding role where your skills in managing complex situations, de-escalating heightened behaviours, and building trust will provide a safe and supportive environment for vulnerable young people.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide comprehensive care and daily support within a residential setting
  • Confidently manage and defuse challenging behaviours to ensure safety
  • Make decisive, appropriate decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Maintain detailed, accurate daily records and incident reports
  • Creatively engage with young people to establish positive relationships
  • Collaborate with the wider team to implement care plans effectively
  • Demonstrate strong judgement and maintain clear professional boundaries

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • A minimum of 6 months' paid experience as a residential children's support worker within the last 3 years
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • An updated enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
  • A valid overseas police certificate (if you've lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the last 5 years)

Nice to have:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • A genuine and demonstrable commitment to the welfare of children
