Job Description:

We are recruiting Support Workers to join an Ofsted-registered residential home for adolescent boys with Learning Disabilities and Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role is ideal for someone with a QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent, who is passionate about making a positive impact in young people's lives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide high-quality care, promoting the health, welfare, education and development of young people
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive and homely environment where young people feel secure and valued
  • Support daily routines, including household tasks, appointments, education, leisure activities and family contact
  • Build positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
  • Assist with keyworker responsibilities, contributing to care plans and progress reviews
  • Apply de-escalation and behaviour management strategies when required
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, social workers and external professionals
  • Participate in training and professional development, including undertaking the Diploma Level 4 in Residential Childcare (sponsored after probation)

Requirements:

  • QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent (essential)
  • Experience working with young people in a residential, educational, or care setting
  • Strong communication, teamwork and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging behaviour calmly
  • Commitment to safeguarding and professional standards
  • Driving licence desirable (occasional travel with young people is required)
