Job Description:

Join our team as a Residential Support Officer to support students in their education and personal development, creating a vibrant and safe residential environment. Play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and safety of residential students while helping shape lives during their educational journey.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting students with planning and implementation of engaging enrichment programmes
  • Ensuring physical safety of students while promoting a secure living environment
  • Working closely with a caseload of students to develop essential life skills for independence
  • Liaising with various departments to support students' holistic wellbeing
  • Encouraging participation in college life from academics to extracurricular activities
  • Conducting regular checks of residential areas and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
  • Promoting safeguarding in all aspects of the college environment
  • Conducting nightly curfew checks and monitoring student welfare
  • Completing regular attendance and progress reports
  • Organising and facilitating enrichment activities that cater to student interests
  • Communicating effectively with students, parents, and college staff regarding student welfare

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a college, residential, or similar environment
  • Experience working with students in a mentoring or support role
  • Strong administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
