The Residential Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to assist the Manager. This position also performs regular duties, works with the respective program manager and Clinical Supervisor to assist in overseeing the residents’ care, programming, activities and other related services to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Supervisory duties (under direction of manager/director)
Accountable for oversite of the Residential Care Specialist staff and assist with the oversight of day-to-day operations
Participate in recruitment activities including posting positions, hiring and onboarding new staff
Complete introductory and annual evaluations
Oversee and ensure patient rounds and patient care notes are being entered into medical records accurately, consistently and timely
Ensure medication protocols are being followed and action plans are created when a Qstatim is entered into the system
Maintain and assure consistent service delivery for patients in support of and under the direction of clinical programming
Develop operational program materials in conjunction with manager/director
Offer ongoing training, support and coaching to staff members
Participate in the on-call rotation with Manager
Support Payroll needs by approving PTO, payroll management system timecard adjustments and approvals
Attend, participate, and lead in staff meetings, in-services, and huddles in conjunction with the Manager
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings
Participate in community and marketing activities to develop the business
Establish, maintain, and encourage strong lines of communication with clinical supervisors and other clinical staff
Monitor the safety of the environment
Maintain updated knowledge of policies and procedures for patient and employee safety, and emergency or evacuation plans
Complete daily rounds for safety
Complete maintenance reports
Complete the appropriate documents and Qstatim documentation with an employee or visitor has been injured and demonstrate appropriate response
Maintain update knowledge in life-sustaining techniques and emergency first aid
Maintain the safety and confidentiality of the patient and patient records
Evaluate residents and communicate to staff observed safety behaviors to anticipate clinical concerns
Intervene appropriately to maintain resident safety
Use knowledge of potential indicators of dangerous behavior
Report verbally and/or in writing pertinent date to physician and the treatment team as necessary and discern situations requiring immediate attention versus postponement
Communicate as necessary with the program manager/director and other treatment team members regarding the residents’ treatment and care
Facilitate/Participate in the shift-end report per residential guidelines providing pertinent and factual information
Daily/Frequent check-ins with census
With new employee orientation and training
Provide on-going education, training, coaching, coaching sessions and feedback to existing staff
Conduct audits and provide feedback
Complete 90-day evaluations
Engage in coaching and disciplinary process for staff as needed, while keeping the manager informed
Participate and aid in the identification of performance improvement projects for residential-related issues
Interact with residents, family members, and significant others to reflect excellence in customer service
Communicate with the residents in a respectful, caring and encouraging manner to help maintain their dignity and well-being
Complete program-specific competencies and training requirements
Be involved in education and knowledge of the various aspects of treatment approach to recovery and apply these principles to daily interaction with residents
Act as line of communication for for residents and clinical supervisor when they have questions regarding the philosophies behind the program
Take responsibility to assure the program schedule is followed as compiled by the treatment team, and report any deviations to the program manager/director and/or the primary counseling staff
Monitor daily supplies and complete the appropriate documents to restock as necessary
Participate in groups and experiential sessions
Assist RCS education groups/lectures with residents
Plan and facilitate leisure group, PM and weekend group activities
Participate in family weekend programming as directed by the program manager/director
Communicate goals to fellow staff members
Demonstrate measurable goal achievement
Maintain department policies and procedures
Include requirements and guidelines from external agencies
Demonstrate acceptance and training of student interns in the department, as directed
Demonstrate understanding and support of Joint Commission, HIPPA, Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA), 42 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), and other regulatory agency compliance regulations, and comply with same
Involve self in the learning and the application of standards relevant to the programs
Participate in in-services/seminars and other meetings to increase involvement and awareness of regulations
Involve self in the education of other disciplines regarding the residential setting
Participate in the Rogers Operating System (ROS)
Gain understanding of the ROS process
Apply the ROS model to your department’s activities
Participate in and/or create ROS teams that lead to improvement in other areas of Rogers Behavioral Health
Educate and involve self to the system and the Residential Center’s ROS plans
Demonstrate organizational skills that promote timely response to all inquiries and to project completion
Communicate with all individuals in a positive and professional manner
Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward parties outside Rogers Behavioral Health
Comply with the Hospital’s policies and procedures, including Human Resources, Infection Control and Employee Health policies and programs
Project a professional image by wearing appropriate, professional attire
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree required
1-2 years of demonstrated leadership (of people, initiatives, projects, etc.) experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, set clear expectations and confront concerns as they arise
Ability to manage multiple priorities, utilizing critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize and be flexible in meeting regulatory and organizational performance expectations
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external departments/resources to deliver residential services to our patients
American Heart Association CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Bi-annual re-certification is required
Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within sixty (60) days of hire/transfer. Annual re-certification is required
CPR certification is required to be completed within (30) days of employment start date
Hold a valid Wisconsin driver’s license
Successfully pass the Caregiver Background Check
