Our client, a well-established residential property management company in La Jolla, California, is seeking an experienced Residential Property Manager to join their growing team. This opportunity offers the chance to oversee a diverse portfolio of multi-family residential properties while driving operational excellence and tenant satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for high-quality property management.
Job Responsibility:
Manage the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of multi-family residential units across multiple sites
Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and ownership groups, addressing concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
Oversee financial operations, including invoice review, cash flow management, budget tracking, and proposal preparation
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with company standards and regulations
Supervise and support a small team of property management staff, providing leadership, guidance, and performance oversight
Utilize property management software such as AppFolio and Yardi to manage operations, maintain accurate records, and generate reports
Perform administrative duties a few days per week, including report preparation, correspondence, and documentation
Collaborate with internal teams to support the onboarding of new properties into the portfolio
Ensure compliance with all applicable housing regulations, including HUD policies and local/state requirements
Monitor property performance and implement strategies to optimize operations, occupancy, and tenant satisfaction
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential property management
Proven experience managing multi-family residential properties and overseeing daily operations
Strong knowledge of financial management, including cash flow analysis, budgeting, and proposal development
Proficiency with AppFolio, Yardi, and Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Prior supervisory or team leadership experience
Real Estate License or willingness to obtain one
Working knowledge of housing regulations, including HUD policies
