The HVAC Service Manager will play a pivotal leadership role within our HVAC division, responsible for overseeing a team of approximately five to six service technicians. This position requires a highly motivated and results-oriented leader with a strong focus on driving revenue, optimizing job margins, and cultivating a high-performance, accountable team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in residential HVAC environments, demonstrated leadership capabilities, and a commitment to achieving and surpassing business objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage a team of approximately five to six HVAC service technicians
Assume full ownership of department performance, with a focus on revenue generation, key performance indicators (KPIs), and technician accountability
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all job-related information, including equipment ages and relevant details, within our CRM systems
Develop and implement strategies to drive tune-ups, replacements, and upselling, utilizing customer data effectively
Serve as a strong and fair leader, maintaining professional relationships with technicians while consistently enforcing company standards and performance goals
Contribute to the strategic long-term growth of the HVAC department, including planning for potential future expansion into specialized sub-departments (e.g., installation, service, maintenance)
Provide essential on-call technical support to field technicians, ensuring timely resolution of issues (on-call hours are structured to end by 8:00 PM)
Requirements:
Proven experience managing service technicians, with at least 5 direct reports
A revenue-driven mindset with a deep understanding of KPIs and a track record of accountability
Extensive experience within residential HVAC service environments
Demonstrated ability to effectively hold technicians accountable for their work and adherence to operational procedures
Comfortable driving significant revenue growth while diligently protecting profit margins
Experience with companies that have undergone substantial scaling
Proficiency with industry-standard software such as ServiceTitan, Google Workspace and Excel
Nice to have:
