Our legal team is looking for a Residential Conveyancer to join our Bury St Edmunds office. The legal team encompasses corporate, commercial, residential and commercial property and wills, trust and probate matters. The Role We are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer with a minimum of two years’ hands‑on conveyancing experience to join our Legal team in Bury St Edmunds. This role will focus exclusively on residential property matters, and while you do not need to be a qualified solicitor, strong technical knowledge and a proven track record of managing your own caseload are essential. We welcome applications from both full‑time and part‑time candidates.
Job Responsibility:
Managing a caseload of conveyancing matters, including residential sales, purchases, remortgages and property development
Assisting with the property aspects associated with probate work and implementation of tax planning
Conducting legal research and providing expert advice on property-related issues
Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts and transfer deeds
Collaborating with clients, estate agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient transactions
Staying informed about changes in property law and regulations, ensuring compliance with local and national standards
Attending meetings and negotiations on behalf of clients as required
Assisting with the promotion of property services (seminars, social media, publications) and undertaking business development opportunities
Assisting other members of the legal department and other departments within the firm on property-related queries
Meeting your productivity, recoverability and fee income targets
Requirements:
Qualified Conveyancer / Solicitor/ Legal Executive or equivalent (2 years PQE plus)
Strong understanding of residential property law
Sound commercial awareness, with an understanding of recoverability, WIP management and client service standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A professional and confident client facing manner, capable of building long term trusted adviser relationships
Highly organised and methodical, with strong time management skills and a calm, pragmatic approach under pressure
A collaborative team player, able to work effectively with tax, accounts, legal and financial planning colleagues to deliver a joined up service
