Job Description

Are you an experienced support worker looking for both flexibility and a sense of purpose? Randstad is currently seeking dedicated Residential Childrens Support Workers to join our team, supporting various children's residential homes across North Cumbria. If you are a support worker, with experience in caring for children who have experienced trauma, we want to hear from you!

Job Responsibility

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people
  • Assisting with daily routines, including education, hobbies, and life skills
  • Managing challenging behaviors with empathy and de-escalation techniques
  • Ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and care are met at all times
  • Maintaining accurate daily logs and reports

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a residential childcare or a similar support setting is essential
  • An empathetic nature with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with both children and professional teams
  • You must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check (or have one on the update service) and provide full employment references
