Residential Children Worker role at Edinburgh. Randstad is working to support a respite service supporting children and their families with complex learning and physical disabilities. This is a rewarding service to work in, taking young people out of their regular routine to relax and enjoy themselves in a safe and nurturing environment.
Job Responsibility:
Providing 24-hour care to vulnerable young people
Ensure children health, hygiene, and safety needs are met
Manage challenging behaviour with appropriate strategies
Administering medication
Maintaining a professional manner and working to National Care Standards
Ensuring the safety and welfare of children, reporting abuse or neglect
Assisting with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and supervision
Supporting educational needs and activities
Teaching essential life skills for independent living
Requirements:
Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people
Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
Experience in assisting with educational needs and activities for Children
Have strong communication skills
Register under the PVG scheme
Full driving license (Preferred)
Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable
