We are seeking a caring and committed Residential Childcare Worker to join our team in Peterborough. This role is pivotal to the success of our homes and the wellbeing of the children in our care. You will provide direct support, guidance, and supervision to young people, helping them to develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
Build positive and trusting relationships with children, acting as a consistent and reliable role model
Support children in developing independence, social skills, and emotional resilience
Implement individual care plans and contribute to risk assessments and behaviour management strategies
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams including social workers, health professionals, and education providers
Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and incidents in line with company policies and regulatory standards
Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment that respects diversity and individual needs
Attend training sessions and team meetings to continually develop professional skills
Requirements:
Previous experience in residential childcare, social care, or a related health and social care setting is desirable
Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) are advantageous
Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection legislation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage challenging behaviour with empathy and professionalism
Commitment to working flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required
Enhanced DBS check clearance will be required
