Are you looking for an exciting new role to support Scotland's most vulnerable children? Are you committed to improving the lives of children and working with a fantastic team? Then we have the role for you! Randstad are looking for Residential Childcare Workers to join a dedicated, expert team in an award winning service near Dundee. The service supports children with social, emotional and behavioural issues ages 10-18 with past trauma. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will support children and young people on their journeys from secure services, to residential and then throughcare or transitioning back to their families, own tenancy or adult support services. This position is challenging yet rewarding, offering you the opportunity to observe the long-term growth and progress of young people. Working pattern consists of one day on, two days off or Monday to Friday in the residential school on site!

Job Responsibility:

  • Encouraging the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the children in the service
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with children in the service and acting as a key worker to children
  • Utilise positive behaviour techniques
  • Coordinating with teachers, social workers and wider care team to monitor and advance the needs of young people
  • Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
  • Promoting participation in education and life skills programmes

Requirements:

  • Have 1 year previous experience working in a care setting with young people
  • Have knowledge of cognitive behavioural approaches, attachment theory and child protection policy
  • Register under the PVG scheme
  • Full driving licence

Nice to have:

Experience in a secure setting is beneficial, but not essential
