Astute Living Care believes in empowering participants to live independently and offers personalised support for individuals with disabilities. As a Residential Care Officer at Astute Living Care, you will support clients with daily living activities, wellbeing, and community involvement within a person-centred care environment. You will be working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) housing, providing day-to-day assistance, encouraging independence, and ensuring a safe and supportive home environment for individuals requiring ongoing care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform client needs assessments and assist in creating personalised care and support plans that align with NDIS goals and the individual preferences of participants
  • Provide personal care and assist with daily living tasks such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and home duties, fostering independence and overall wellbeing
  • Facilitate access to medical services, community engagement initiatives, and structured social activities to support inclusion and personal growth
  • Implement behavioural and emotional support techniques, responding effectively to mental health challenges and crisis situations
  • Keep detailed and accurate documentation, including case notes and progress records, in compliance with organisational protocols and NDIS quality and safeguarding standards
  • Collaborate with families, allied health professionals, and community organisations to ensure holistic, coordinated care delivery

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Residential Care Officer
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care principles and quality service standards
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and adaptability to diverse needs
  • Ability to work within a dynamic team and maintain professional standards of behaviour and documentation
