Supporting children with disabilities in a warm, nurturing home environment. This is a rewarding full-time, permanent role where you'll play a vital part in helping children develop socially, emotionally, and physically. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will work alongside senior staff to provide high-quality care based on principles of privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and fulfilment.
Job Responsibility:
Provide high-quality, person-centred care to children with disabilities, supporting their emotional, physical, and social development
Support individual care plans, participate in reviews and meetings, and act as a key worker where required
Encourage independence and life skills through daily routines, activities, and household tasks
Monitor and record children’s progress, behaviours, and needs accurately
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and the wider community to support each child’s wellbeing
Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment, complying with all safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection requirements
Participate in shift work, including sleep-ins and occasional physical intervention (training provided)
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people in a residential, educational, or care setting is desirable
A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude with excellent communication skills
Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
Physically able to undertake responsibilities that include active support and, where necessary, physical intervention
Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
