This role has been designated as ‘Remote/Teleworker’, which means you will primarily work from home. Job Responsibility:

  • Holding design and information gathering workshops to understand the Customer's existing network design and their future plans and goals
  • Understand a customer's organizational structure including network implementation, support processes and procedures
  • Test new designs, features, functionality & patching in a laboratory environment, developing plans to implement and verify success in the live network
  • Troubleshoot incidents and problems, opening and supervising cases through to problem resolution
  • Work on developing network optimization and configuration reviews
  • Author summary reports of the status of Design projects, incidents & problems
  • Lead field training to educate Customer’s design, implementation, and support personnel in the configuration / operation of Juniper Networks products
  • Assist the Customer in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures
  • Peering with colleagues performing similar resident engineering roles learning lessons which will help minimize risk for the customer
  • 40 hour per week position supporting testing at the customer location
  • The Resident Network Architect will be encouraged to develop secondary skills in other products in the Juniper product portfolio

Requirements:

  • Experience in the installation and operation of Juniper Networks Routers and the Junos operating system
  • A conceptual grasp of VXLAN and EVPN
  • A firm understanding of protocols and services including Multicast, IP, IPv6, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, VPNs, NAT and CGNAT
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with most of Juniper routing and switching portfolio, which includes MX, EX, PTX series hardware
  • Basic to sophisticated Routing knowledge: ECMP, BFD (Layer 3), OAM (Layer 2), ARP, Spanning Tree Protocols
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills coupled with emotional intelligence

Nice to have:

  • Proven Understanding of CGNAT and Juniper’s Implementation of the service
  • Demonstrated ability of handling activity on large technical accounts
  • Programming and Scripting experience such as Python, Ansible or Salt
  • Certifications: JNCIP, JNCIE / CCIE or equivalent are plus
  • Experience with Cisco IOS/XR as well as Junos to facilitate migration
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written
