Job Description:

Job Title: Resident Geo-Technical Engineer. Location: Project Site. Role: Ensure the geotechnical safety and stability of dam foundations and structures throughout the project lifecycle, from investigation and design to construction and operation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure the geotechnical safety and stability of dam foundations and structures throughout the project lifecycle, from investigation and design to construction and operation
  • Assess soil and rock conditions for dam foundation and structure stability
  • Analyze soil properties, design stable foundations, and mitigate risks like seepage and liquefaction
  • Monitor the dam's structural integrity over time
  • Provide geotechnical input for design, construction, and maintenance phases
  • Work within multidisciplinary teams to solve complex geotechnical challenges

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Geo-technical Engineering or Civil Engineering
  • 20+ years overall experience
  • 15+ years specifically in geotechnical assessment for dam safety and stability (covering investigation, design, construction, and O&M)
  • Proven hands-on experience in the design, construction, and management of dam systems
  • Proficiency with design/analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience using both deterministic and risk-based probabilistic evaluations for dams and ancillary structures
  • Experience in Risk-Informed Decision Making (RIDM), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), and developing risk reduction measures
  • Knowledge of emergency action planning and consequence evaluation
