Job Title: Resident Geo-Technical Engineer. Location: Project Site. Role: Ensure the geotechnical safety and stability of dam foundations and structures throughout the project lifecycle, from investigation and design to construction and operation.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure the geotechnical safety and stability of dam foundations and structures throughout the project lifecycle, from investigation and design to construction and operation
Assess soil and rock conditions for dam foundation and structure stability
Analyze soil properties, design stable foundations, and mitigate risks like seepage and liquefaction
Monitor the dam's structural integrity over time
Provide geotechnical input for design, construction, and maintenance phases
Work within multidisciplinary teams to solve complex geotechnical challenges
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Geo-technical Engineering or Civil Engineering
20+ years overall experience
15+ years specifically in geotechnical assessment for dam safety and stability (covering investigation, design, construction, and O&M)
Proven hands-on experience in the design, construction, and management of dam systems
Proficiency with design/analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to have:
Experience using both deterministic and risk-based probabilistic evaluations for dams and ancillary structures
Experience in Risk-Informed Decision Making (RIDM), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), and developing risk reduction measures
Knowledge of emergency action planning and consequence evaluation
