Job Description:

Resident Engineer role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise to support customer network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, implement new designs, and provide technical expertise in large-scale IP networks.

Job Responsibility:

  • Hold network information gathering workshops with the Customer
  • Understand the Customer's organizational structure and network implementation processes
  • Carry out testing of new Designs, features, and functionality
  • Test patches and fixes to operating software
  • Troubleshoot equipment and network problems
  • Raise equipment, Return Material Authorizations (RMA's)
  • Produce written summary reports
  • Hold technology workshops with the Customer
  • Train the Customer's personnel
  • Assist in developing Network Operating and Equipment Operating Procedures
  • Support the production environment of Juniper products
  • Support ongoing efforts in defining best practice policies
  • Peer with other employees performing similar roles
  • Develop secondary skills in other Juniper products

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of design, implementation, and operational experience in large-scale IP networks
  • JUNOS CLI experience
  • Must have large-scale experience with QFX, EX, PTX switching and routing
  • Prior Work experience at a large enterprise or a Data Center with EVPN/VXLAN experience
  • Experience with core routing BGP (eBGP and iBGP) and OSPF protocols
  • Mist Wireless assurance
  • Experience with Juniper EZ-LAG
  • Background in automation with Ansible, YAML, and Juniper PyEZ
  • Experience writing automation scripts in Python
  • Experience with design and/or deployment of routing and switching products within the Customer infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate effectively in crises with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to refine and translate complex requirements and execute best practice solutions
  • Assisted with major network upgrades, maintenance windows, and changes in the customer network
  • Strong customer interface and presentation skills
  • Expert-level Technical Certifications: JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, and CCIE a strong plus
  • Working knowledge to support use of the Mist API/Web UI
