Job Responsibility:
Highly motivated, qualified and client service-oriented Resident Engineer/Project Manager specializing in roadway/highway/bridge construction inspection
Construction schedule monitoring
Project budget monitoring
Field supervision of trained technicians and junior engineers
Translate and implement project plans and special provisions
Evaluate and document construction operations
Generate materials testing frequency and manage the QA program
Complete required project documentation including progress payments and contract changes to achieve final project acceptance
Ensure quality control activities are performed for all assigned work and back check work of others
Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients, and other agencies
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
PE license preferred
15+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection and construction layout staking
IDOT Certification of Documentation of Contract Quantities (Required)
Familiarity with Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Tollway construction engineering practices, standards and documentation
National Corrosion Engineer (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector a plus
Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and Power Point) and CADD (MicroStation preferred)
Willing to travel
Nice to have:
PE license preferred
National Corrosion Engineer (NACE) Certified Coatings Inspector a plus
