Job Titles: Resident Civil Engineer - Geotechnical (Non-Key) | Resident Civil Engineer - Hydraulic Structures (Non-Key). Location: Project Site. Role: Provide specialized technical supervision and field engineering expertise for a major dam project, focusing on either geotechnical or hydraulic structures and concrete works.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise the construction and/or rehabilitation of dam project components in your area of specialization, ensuring compliance with design and specifications
  • Monitor works, review contractor submissions, and maintain daily logs and quality control records
  • Plan and monitor schedules using project management software (e.g., MS Project)
  • Administer contract requirements on-site under the FIDIC Conditions of Contract
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports and technical documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialty in either Geotechnical Engineering (Position A) or Hydraulics/Water Resources (Position B)
  • 15+ years of professional experience in the water resources sector or similar construction projects
  • 5+ years of direct experience in the design and supervision of dam projects where a single project cost exceeded USD $5 million
  • Practical experience in planning and monitoring dam rehabilitation works
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project)
  • Working knowledge of FIDIC contracts, technical specifications, and methods of measurement, preferably with experience in developing countries like Nigeria
