The Residence Housekeeping Assistant plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the university's residential facilities, delivering a daily cleaning service and providing a first-class, customer-focused service to students.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of residential facilities
Deliver daily cleaning service across all public areas of the accommodation, including bathrooms, lavatories, common rooms, offices, laundry rooms, and kitchenettes
Act as first point of contact for residents with general enquiries or requests for assistance
Occasionally travel to other university sites across London to assist colleagues and support residents
Requirements:
Proven experience in cleaning within domestic, hospitality, or building environments
Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation
Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, and courteous approach
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage tasks under pressure
Ability to communicate confidently with residents and colleagues
Computer literate with a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook email
Enhanced DBS check required prior to commencing employment
Nice to have:
Relevant NVQ or BICS cleaning qualification
Knowledge of building-related safety procedures such as COSHH regulations and fire evacuation practices
