Job Description

I am working closely with a leading insurer to hire a Reserving Analyst in their Reserving Actuarial team. You will provide high-quality actuarial analysis, enhance methodologies, and support quarterly reserve reviews and monthly performance reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Support estimation of current and future loss ratios
  • Assist in assessing product profitability and line performance
  • Deliver analysis to inform strategic initiatives and decision-making
  • Validate and reconcile MI data for actuarial reporting
  • Contribute to process improvements and methodological enhancements
  • Support audit activity, ensuring strong controls and compliance
  • Build effective relationships with SBUs, Finance, MI, Claims and Strategy teams

Requirements

  • Progressing with actuarial qualifications (trainee, part-qualified or near-qualified), or relevant insurance/financial experience
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Understanding of reserving principles and insurance accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and actuarial tools (e.g. SAS, Python, VBA)
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical insights into business value
