Research Scientist

• Develop and execute synthetic strategies towards complex molecules using state-of-the-art synthetic methodologies
• Analyze and identify compounds using different purification and spectroscopic techniques
• Contribute to the design of peptides with improved potency and physiochemical properties to advance programs according to scientific strategies and goals within a project team setting
• Present data and reports on project status at internal and external meetings
• Conduct laboratory operations in a safe manner
• Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices
• comply with all safety requirements according to Italian laws

• Master of Science Degree (Laurea Magistrale) in Chemistry with 5 years of experience doing peptide chemistry in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment
• PhD in Chemistry with one or more relevant postdoctoral experiences or with experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech environment
• In/depth knowledge of peptide chemistry
• Expertise in design and synthesis of complex peptides, including peptide conjugates, macrocycles, and small proteins
• Mastery of use of laboratory equipment with a preference for knowledge on the use of peptide synthesizers
• Design and execution of synthetic routes for the synthesis of amino acids and building blocks
• Excellent knowledge of common purification techniques (HPLC, IEX, GPC) and analytical techniques (UPLC/HPLC and mass spectrometry)
• Knowledge in structure elucidations of organic molecules by NMR and MS
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good knowledge of English is mandatory
• Ability to productively work in teams

Experience in the discovery of therapeutic peptides in an industrial environment will be considered a plus
