Job Responsibility:
Conduct critical chemical and physical analyses on finished product R&D stability samples
Act as a study director for studies, independently evaluating results and their impact
Provide training and supervision to junior members within the laboratory
Review test data, including documentation practices, and perform review functions in LIMS and other computerized systems
Use sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect and record data
Participate in validations and transfers
Perform chemical assays requiring detailed analytical skills and understanding of chemistry principles
Complete testing, including special project/protocol testing, to meet project schedules
Lead investigations into atypical or out-of-specification/out-of-trend results
Engage in technical writing, including investigations, protocols, and data impact assessments
Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with company SOPs and specifications, FDA, cGxP, and QSR regulations
Collaborate with other functions/departments to solve problems, increase efficiency, improve quality, and provide product support
Assist project teams and guide initiatives, taking responsibility for essential decisions and outcomes within your scope of work
Influence program, project, and/or functional leadership and cross-functional teams
Suggest and lead approaches to intricate technical challenges within your field of specialization
Maintain laboratory safety requirements, perform equipment maintenance/calibration, and troubleshoot instrumentation
Requirements:
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific field such as chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences (BS level with 5+ years, MS level with 3+ years, or PhD level with research experience or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation including HPLC, pH measurement, UV, and GC/LC-MS
Background in analytical method development, validation, and transfer
Understanding of ICH and USP guidelines and cGxP practices
Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment with strong technical problem-solving abilities
Ability to learn quickly and apply critical thinking to solve analytical challenges
Skill in crafting experiments and interpreting data, along with the ability to thoughtfully review peers’ work
Strong ability to express ideas clearly in writing and speaking, with careful attention to detail
Solid laboratory, technical, writing, and computer skills
Ability to coordinate and communicate complex information effectively with peers and managers
Nice to have:
Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks
Familiarity with Empower software
Comfort managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
