Job Description

Research Governance Program Managers build and scale research compliance programs, working hand in hand with Researchers, Legal, and Privacy teams to design, execute, and socialize policies for the research function at Meta. In this role, you will define, establish, and maintain global operational and company-wide compliance programs as well as work alongside cross-functional partners and leadership to craft and facilitate research policy decisions. You’ll help cross-functional teams execute critical research reviews and you'll utilize a full range of organizational, programmatic and demonstrated communication skills to help our partner teams ensure compliance throughout the research lifecycle, while operating at their most effective level. This position is both accountable for and has the opportunity to provide and enhance connection and collaboration across Meta's research teams and cross-functional functions to ensure research continues to be executed responsibly.

Job Responsibility

  • Define and manage strategic initiatives that improve team efficiency and impact, establishing operational systems and outcomes
  • Proactively manage expectations: define clear program roadmaps, provide frequent program updates, identify and communicate risks and adjustments, and ensure commitments are delivered
  • Support and execute special team projects that build impact and drive clarity of purpose
  • Provide varied approaches that meet team needs, including the capacity to move fast and make progress or navigate blocks quickly
  • Serve as a link to the Global Research Operations team, leveraging new processes or best practices when relevant and collaborating on programs specific to the team’s needs
  • Facilitate relationships between teams, move initiatives forward, find resources, escalate and raise concerns to appropriate owners early and resolve open issues preventing progress
  • Lead preparation for program reviews including creating and enforcing development deadlines, coordinating review timelines, and preparing accompanying documentation

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience as a project or program manager
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with UX Research, Market Research or Product Design
  • Acumen in research impact on product lifecycle
  • Experience working in sensitive domains that require close partnership with legal, privacy and policy teams
  • Experience working directly with leadership
  • Experience with establishing programs and leading them end-to-end while scaling for growth
  • Experience building relationships with peers and stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
  • Experience communicating with data to drive change
  • Track record of operating under your own initiative, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Experience being successful in a time-critical environment that requires effective time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and experience identifying problems and proactively work towards solutions
