Job Description:

The Clinical Research Nurse, under the direction of the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Coordinator, is responsible for the implementation and for the direct execution and documentation of clinical research protocol procedures and maintaining compliance with all applicable institutional, state and federal regulations. Other duties include performing regulatory and IRB functions such as reporting adverse events, report submission, etc., and assistance with research budget preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records. Acts as patient advocate. Ensures that Good Clinical Practices (GCP) are followed. Clinical duties include patient recruitment, assisting with patient interventions as dictated by the research protocol and follow up of patient status within the hospital's nursing scope of practice. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of research in the pediatric population. The Clinical Research Nurse is accountable to the Principal Investigator, Clinical Research Coordinator, and Clinical Research Trial Program Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of experience
  • Current California RN license
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
  • One year of pediatrics or clinical research experience

  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years of experience
  • Three years of pediatrics and clinical research experience
  • Previous oncology nursing experience
