The Daley laboratory, a multinational research group at Boston Children’s Hospital, is seeking a responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented individual to join our ongoing efforts to uncover the molecular mechanisms that regulate blood development, aging and malignant transformation. The successful candidate should enjoy acquiring new skills and working as a member of a highly collaborative team. In addition to providing technical research support to lab members, responsibilities will also include some laboratory maintenance and administrative duties, and use of mice as a model organism. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate who is interested in a career in academic biomedical research and laboratory management.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for day to day operations of a research laboratory
Help maintain mouse colony and performs husbandry responsibilities
Reviews and authorizes supply and equipment orders and monitors and records receipt
Collaborates with Research Technicians to ensure proper preparation and storage of all laboratory materials including chemicals and supplies
Updates and renews active animal and biosafety protocols and prepares and files new protocols
Monitors and maintains accuracy and completeness of databases
Maintains database of research reagents
Acts as a liaison for the lab to other departments, outside vendors, funding agencies, industry and other external contacts
Participates in all group meeting and scientific retreats
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related discipline
Master’s highly preferred
Bachelor’s and 6 years of relevant work experience OR Master’s and 4 years of relevant work experience
Prior experience working with animals and human stem cells preferred
